Is there a way to zip a folder (group) in DEVONthink? I do not want to index. The group (folder) consists of an import of apple notes, imported via Files → Import→ Folders and Attachments from Notes.

No. Groups are not folders, just logical thingies to … group their content.
What would be your goal?
to compress the notes backup. Huge gain in space 490 MB → 90 MB when done in Finder

I still don’t get it. If you need to work with your data in DT, compression would preclude that. If you want your data compressed, then you don’t need to work with it on a regular basis.
IMO, DT is not the place to store backups. Compress it and put it on USB stick or something.
There is a script called “Archive Group” available in the support assistant.
Go to the Script Menu > More Scripts…
But it exports to the Finder. DEVONthink doesn’t really work with zip archives.
