I did a search, and found some old posts explaining how one can change the view of groups >> sorted by added/modified/name etc.
Unless I am mistaken, this appears to be a global change? So, even if you open a Group in its own window, when closing it and jumping back to your initial DB window, that view/sorting now reflects what was changed in the earlier, separate window…
Can this be done individually? I might have missed something, so not sure if this is a request, per se!
I realise this can be done using a Smart Search, and saving it to the Sidebar - but I would still prefer if I could get a particular group(s) to be viewed/sorted in a particular manner, that is NOT reflected DB-wide…
Is this a possibility, or is one constrained by how the OS treats the properties of things/windows?
Example:
Merely to illustrate, whereas all of my groups and sub-groups are sorted by [Project] name, there are two groups in particular where [client] named groups are placed. There are several hundred of these, in a particular main-group.
More often than not, in these groups, if I am working with a particular client, I am dipping into that particular folder (and 5/10 others) constantly during the day.
Ideally, I would like to sort that group (and ONE other) by “modified/added”, so that the “active” clients’ folders are listed near the top.
I want the rest of my groups/DB to stay in ‘their’ view, by name.
This does not appear possible, notwithstanding the Smart Search/Group approach - which does work, but is still another thing to remember [i.e. don’t go to the Group you are naturally drawn to when looking for ‘X’, find that smart-group instead].
Any support for this/other suggestions?
