Keep annotation after OCR-ing a document

Is there a way within DevonThink to ensure that the annotation that I’ve entered for a particular image stays with that image after it has been OCR-ed? Several times now, I’ve OCR-ed after already taking notes on a document and have lost the annotation, or at least the annotation was no longer linked to the document. I have my preferences set to delete the original JPG after the OCR process, but I didn’t know that I’d lose my annotation. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds?

A PDF annotation or an annotation entered in the Annotations & Reminder inspector?

An annotation entered into the inspector. I’ve just checked and my original annotation on the JPG is still in my annotations folder, but it is no longer linked to any document, since the JPG was deleted after it was OCR-ed into a PDF.
