I truly like DT Pro and devonthink stuff

Having said that I would like to understand something. When I create searchable pdfs - either usin my snapscan or just using DT’s ocr function and then try to read the pdf using my ipad I find that large documents render slowly. I have however noted that Devonthinks pdf manual (screen version) renders very quickly despite being 14,5 mb large. Exactly what makes your pdf so quick when my pdf’s of comparable size are slow as molasses (have never actually seen a “molass” )? What can I do to make pdf’s quick and nimble? I have set the ocr to 300 dpi which from what I understand is recommended. There must be something I am missing or??
