Link to; link, too?

Okay, here I go again. Probably missed the obvious. Still, I’d be grateful for a quick heads-up: Working in Devonthink, typing a phrase, I decide I’d like to “link” it to a file in my “Finder.” Is it possible to link words within a TXT or RTF file in DT pro to files on the HD? If so, how?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi, Jeff. Yes, this can be done in a rich text document, but not in a plain text document.

Here’s how: With your rich text note open in your database, Command-Option-Drag a file from the Finder and drop it at the desired insertion point. A text-only link from your rich text note will be created.

As inserted, the text string of the link will be the file name. Note, however, that you can select the text and change it, and the link will still work.
