I have DT3 and DTTG and have used CloudKit to sync.
I have files in DT3 and I have set DTTG to download on demand. It’s working well so far.
I have a lot of other data in iCloud so far not in (or visible to) DT and am now wondering whether to just index the iCloud rather than download it into DT3. Any thoughts on that?
Which then leads me to wonder whether I should just have all files I want to be searchable placed in iCloud and (if possible) set to download on demand for both DT3 and DTTG.
One of the points of confusion for me is whether CloudKit is a location I can see in the same way that iCloud is.
Any light thrown much appreciated.
Thanks

Why are you wondering this?
As has been discussed many times, indexing is not something you casually do. It should be carefully considered. In fact, in Help > Tutorials, the most recent tutorial is on the subject of indexing. I suggest you read it and also the referred text in the manual mentioned on the last slide.

Why? DEVONthink To Go isn’t going to access the files in iCloud Drive.
And no, there is no shallow sync for DEVONthink.

No, it’s not.

I have followed your suggestions and really broken through with DT3 now. My third attempt at DT but now getting immensely satisfying results.
