BBEdit … as for any text related stuff
The (free) MWeb works great on both Mac and IOS. It also can generate and handle textbundle documents
I think this is the first time I see MWeb mentioned in the wild. I stumbled upon it before in the App Store, and was surprised I had never heard about it. I looks pretty cool! But since I have enough editors, I never gave it a try.
It has two modes, not mutually exclusive: [1] Library (looks like a database, with categories and tags), and [2] External Folders. With folders it creates a specific folder for images/media and manages the links for you, like DEVONthink’s “Assets” (dunno if it keeps track of filename changes). You can set a preference to relative or absolute links, and the preference is unique for each (top-level) folder. It can also upload images to the web for you.
The macOS version can even create a static website. It also has a quick note function in the menu bar. And a quick open/search palette.
But it is a paid app. Free to download and try, standard IAP stuff. It’s pretty inexpensive though: $14.9 for iOS, $24.99 for macOS, or a yearly subscription of $9.99 for both combined. “Free” let’s you create 10 notes in Library mode, and doesn’t let you create new documents in Folders mode.
Here’s the website: https://www.mweb.im – including some documentation for those interested.
For me the big thing is textbundle support. There are not many options if you want/need to combine pictures and text in one document and have it DTTG

I find MultiMarkdown Composer a nice mix of capability and ease.
Has not been updated for five years! But if it continues to work, there’s no reason to stop using it.
