Using custom metadata in DEVONthink 3.0 (date). Every time I switch to a new group of documents, the custom metadata column I have displayed disappears. Each time I have to go back into “View --> Columns” and re-select the custom metadata fields I would like to display.
Is there a way to fix this?

Are you switching between groups in different databases?
No, within the same database.
In the same window or opening new windows for the newly selected groups?
Just curious, have u disabled the retain view in preference?

First screenshot: The “Date” Column is the custom metadata.
Second screenshot: All I have done is click on Folder 2 as opposed to Folder 1. The “Date” column has disappeared.

Thanks for the screenshots! I couldn’t reproduce this so far. Does customizing the columns of folder 2 fix this?
What do you mean by customizing the columns? I am able to go to “View --> Columns” and re-enable the “Date” metadata. However, when I switch back to Folder 1, the same behavior occurs. The “Date” metadata is no longer visible when looking at Folder 1, even though it was before.
And if I switch back to Folder 1 and then back again to Folder 2, the “Date” metadata is no longer visible in Folder 2.
Bottom line, each time I switch groups, I need to re-enable the “Date” metadata column.
This database – as with all of my databases – is based on an indexed folder on my computer. Perhaps that has something to do with this?
This shouldn’t matter. Do you experience similar issues with new databases? E.g. I just created a new one with two groups, customized the List view columns of one group and the other group showed it too.
Is this definitely beta 2? Because there was such a bug in beta 1.

I am experiencing the same problem. This bug is killing me.
This is the UI before I switch the folder. As you can see, there is a “Title” column (custom meta data).
Once I switch to duplicates folder, the last column “Title” is missing. Even if I switch back to Library won’t make “Title” column reappear.
I am using version 3.0.4 on macOS 10.15.4.
Can anyone help me?
