Migrating from Office version to regular Pro

I’ve been test driving the Office 2 beta version and want to go back to Pro 2 beta.

What do I need to do?

Thanks

Bob

Simple answer is to remove DTPO, (re)install DTP, logout/login, and run DTP. Any DTPO databases are downward compatible with DTP.

Surely that’s been asked/answered before; maybe someone knows when/where a more detailed instructions were posted and can link to it?

It would be a good idea to search the online Help for DT Pro Office 2.0 for ‘uninstall’. Although there will be no problem with database compatibility, the Mail bundle installed by DT Pro Office 2 should be removed, and the email script for DT Pro 2.0 will be installed when that program is installed and launched. Following the uninstall directions will assure that the correct scripts, etc. are available to DT Pro 2, and you will save some hard drive space, including removal of the ABBYY OCR software, which won’t be functional in DT Pro 2.

I did search both the online and help and manual, but didn’t see any mention of how to remove the ABBYY OCR software. My prime concern was that there were some frameworks or such lying around.

Thanks

Delete the folder named ‘Abbyy’ at /Home/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink Pro 2/.

That, plus the Mail bundle installed at /Home/Library/Mail/Bundles/ accounts for everything except the scripts – and you should update the scripts using Help > Install Add-ons after installing DT Pro 2 (if that isn’t done automatically at first launch).
