Welcome @aivery
- Where are you exporting to?
- How are you verifying the metadata?
I am seeing no issue with changing creation dates or loss of tags when exporting to the desktop (in Sonoma at the moment).
Welcome @aivery
I am seeing no issue with changing creation dates or loss of tags when exporting to the desktop (in Sonoma at the moment).
My experience is that structure and tags are maintained
I do a weekly full export as part of my backups
is there a reason why cmd+drag does allow to move (not just copy) from finder to dtp but not viceversa?
After moving files accidentally out of the database, itâs not possible to undo this operation. Even moving the file in again wouldnât restore e.g. broken item links or lost metadata.
technically you could keep a (hidden) copy of the file in the trash to undo the operation?! maybe also an additional warning message might be useful for the first time: âthis action is irreversible. are you sure you want to move this file from DTP to the finder?â
But whatâs the actual use case for doing this?
For example on the iphone I collect all files/bookmarks etc in DTTG. Some of them I move to local finder directories on DTP later on. Why should I be able to move files into DTP but not out of DTP? Itâs not a big issue, currently I move them out b drag and drop and then delete them in DTP. But cmd+drag an drop in both directions for moving might be a more consistent behavior. But as said, if the developers team has good reasons not to implement this, I can accept and understand this.
@DTLow @BLUEFROG
You both are right. I accidently tested with another file.
And the other questions was solved with the DEVONthink Help. Thanks!
Thanks for the follow-up and glad to help
