mp3 files in DT -- How to keep them from playing?

I’m new to DT, and I’m working on a project that requires managing a variety of file formats, including mp3. I find that whenever I select an mp3, it immediately starts playing. This gets a bit old, when I may only be selecting the file in order to tag it, or to change its name, or to move it.

Is there some way to suppress the sound, other than at the system level?

In Preferences > Media uncheck the Play > Automatically option

That makes sense (thanks!). But I just opened Preferences, and Play > Automatically is already unchecked. Checking it and then unchecking it again doesn’t help. Any other ideas?
