In views that have multiple views (list or column with icons/cover-flow), sorting of one section should affect the other identically.
If I have the 2 pane list/icon view and I sort the list section by kind, it would seem logical to sort the icons in the same manner.
Otherwise, it’s a right-click and navigate through an already long list of menu items and by the time I’ve figured out what sorting option I wanted, I forgot why I wanted it (or what I was just about to do).
