Multiplying Advertisements in Web Archives

When I capture a web page as archive, in DTPO the advertisements show up multiple times. Sometimes they double, sometimes quadruple, and I just had the same advert showing up six times in the web archive. This applies to images as well as text ads (e.g. Google ads).

Often this makes the page unreadable, so I have to edit the web archive and remove the ads, but in the long run that’s annoying. Any hints on this?

Regards,
Alex

That’s a basic flaw of web archives containing dynamic contents like ads.

Problems with such pages that contain dynamic images can often be minimized by capturing as PDF instead of WebArchive.

In Safari, one can select just the desired portion of a page (avoiding selection of dynamic ads), then invoke the keyboard shortcut to capture the selected area as WebArchive using the keyboard shortcut “Command-%”.
