Small world for you, Hens 
Years ago, in design school, a teacher said 4 perfectly attuned people were the ideal team size.
After working for giants like Oracle, when I joined a startup I finally understood what he meant.
It does help (at least for me, who loves to customize things) that the team is amazingly applescript savvy.
Way back ago, I was trying many - remember the term? - PIMs. I even had the idea of creating one, after leaving Carnegie Mellon. The years went by, and all of them dropped by the wayside. Notebook Pony, Evernote (at least for me), and so on, many more. I could take some time to explain why, from a product concept, market strategy, and user experience, DEVONthink is so successful. But love for what you do is a key factor, and it does help that Jim (correct me if I’m wrong) has a strong background in Design, Prepress, etc.
And, let’s not forget the people who came before!

Pretty cool to know you co founded it. Amazing to see how long you have been here, and this is one of the reason this app is still around after more than two decades, most apps your size wouldn’t last more than a decade. Thanks for being still around and keeping up with things.
I think DevonThink is an awesome app, more ppl should have this app, I think its not well advertised. when I first became aware of this app, I thought it was a good app but the way it was advertised as “too” difficult, with many options and hard to learn, at least thats how I interpret it. But little did I know it’s a whole diffenrt world once you get the hang of it and well worth the price. After all these years I still find something new, a cool feature. Treasure trove.
