Need CMD + / CMD - to change selected font size

Most modern Mac browsers and editors allow one to change the size of the font of a selected region by CMD + and CMD -

It is very tedious to have to change font size by selecting text, then entering mouse mode, bringing up the Font dialog box and having to find an click on a specific font size each time one wants to make a selection of text larger and smaller, which is something we sometimes do in many places in a single document.

Having keyboard short cuts to just increment or decrement the selected font by one point size would be a huge improvement.

Format > Font > Bigger (Command-+) and Format > Font > Smaller (Command–) are available in all DN/DT apps, though I don’t know which point size(s) they increment/decrement by.
