Forgive my ignorance, but I’d like to be able to be in a group and create a nested subgroup that appears within said group, not as a new database group that I have to manually put where I want it to go. (Does that make sense?) Any help appreciated.
I don’t know which view you use primarily, but in the three pane view you can accomplish this as follows.
If you already have at least one sub-group in the group where you wish to create another sub-group, select the master group and click the disclosure triangle to reveal the sub-group(s). Now when you create a new group, it will be nested under the master group.
If the master group does not already have at least one sub-group, double-click one the master group to open it in a new window, create the new group, and it will be nested under the master group.
