Notification when Sync is not possible

I am syncing on my iOS device via the local network. It happens regularly that the computer is offline, or the database is busy. In those cases, I have no notification that the sync is or cannot be done. I therefore started the habit to sync via the settings menu, where I watch the sync happening. I know then that the sync actually worked (and frequently see that the Global Inbox is synced with some delay). It would be great, if there is feedback to engaging local network sync, when the computer is offline or the database is busy.

Hmm, we mused about it but that would mean posting a notification every time the connection fails which could be as often as every minute. Some might find this distracting

What I would appreciate is feedback only when I actively start the sync, say before leaving the office, to ensure all is in sync. Right now, I do not know whether the manually activated sync worked. I am not interested in notifications for background activities.

It would be enough for me if an icon appeared in DTTG when it is connected to the MacBook and synchronization is in progress, and if I didn’t have to manually enable synchronization again and again deep in the settings.

Well, it does show when a sync is in progress. But it does not show when it’s connected to a Bonjour server. It’s hard to find more and more places for yet another icon …

We could show a notification when you manually start a sync and then a Bonjour server is not available.
