OCR and PDF issue

long time devonthink user (although using only some of capabilities)
Part of workflow
I download pdfs of all my statements (credit cards, financial institutions
I then import as image with OCR
This has worked fine. Today - on several routine files (eg credit card statements) it stopped working - log says
OCR operation was unsuccessful
then
unable to create PDF export file
Any suggestions what could be going on and how to diagnose?
Running Devonthink 3.8.7 on M1 Mac air with MacOS 12.6.2 (latest Monterey, have not yet gone to Ventura)

Have you checked DEVONthink 3 > Install Add-Ons for an update to the OCR engine?

I had checked the install add ons in initially in main devonthink menu. It said all add ons are installed (except chrome and Firefox add ons). Should I be looking somewhere else for an additional add-on?

Hold the Option key, and choose Help > Report Bug to start a support ticket.
