I often search over all my open databases I might get results back like this:
Is there a way to sort the results by database? (So that in the above search results all hits from the databse computer would appear before the hits from external-docs?)

I think: Select Path as a column and sort the results on Path
Actually you can to sort by path without making the path column visible.
However, the results in each database will not be ordered by relevance. That could be inconvenient with a large number of matching items.
