Overwrite default Markdown Display option

Hi,
My default setting for opening markdown files is “Preview Documents”, which is great for existing documents.

When I call from AppleScript to create a new markdown item and use the open command like

open window for record myRec

The window opens in “Preview Documents” mode. Is there a way to change this behaviour for new markdown files to open in “Edit Documents” mode?

I doubt it. The only way I know to influence this behavior is the global setting

There is no AppleScript parameter to set how a window is opened for any file format.
Why not set the preference to Side-by-Side and get the best of both worlds? :slight_smile:
