It’s not just a renaming/linking issue.
If you index a document from a Finder file and subsequently delete the Finder file, information is lost – in many cases so much so that there’s little point in keeping the file with the broken Path.
My personal preference is for topical, Import-captured databases, so I have only a few Index-captured documents.
