Paste as Plain Text into RTF container

When I paste text clips from a group of PDF documents into a DT RTF, I end up with a bunch of different text sizes and fonts.

The DT “paste as plain text” command would seem to take care of this, but it’s not active for RTF items. (And, of course, DevonThink services are greyed out in Acrobat, so I don’t know if that would work differently.)

As of now I paste the clips into a plain text DT item, which converts the input nicely, and then I cut and paste the plain text to the RTF item. I’m just wondering if there’s a way to do this in one step…?

Currently "Paste as plain text" ignores the original text attributes and uses the one at the insertion point. Maybe we should use the default plain text attributes (see preferences)? Any thoughts?

A reasonable alternative would be to have a menu command such as "Make Default" that would convert selected text to the default font, size and color.
