PDF annotation

Perhaps I’m missing something obvious but I don’t seem to see any PDF annotation tools in Beta 7, which according to the release notes should be there. It’s not a problem, I did what I needed to in Preview, I was just looking forward to eliminating that step.

Just add the “Markup”, “Annotate” and/or “Tool” items to the toolbar, e.g. of PDF windows.

Aha! Now I see them. Thanks Christian.

Hi,
I have tested the new possibilities and find them still wanting.
The tools are beautifully designed, but when I add some annotations/markup etc in DTP and reopen the pdf-document in skim, I cannot edit these any more.

I can add and edit skims own annotations etc., these show up in dtp but again they cannot be edited within dtp.

What are the underlying specs? Would it be impossible to enhance interoperability? I have yet to test with Acrobat (Pro)…

Skim is not – like preview - just adding stuff and – after saving makes them un-editable but collects them in its own drawer; keeps them editable etc. so this is a drag.

The beta 7 is a great improvement nevertheless.
