I know that the subject of scanners is revisited periodically so apologies if this is boring for people. I am looking at buying a portable scanner and am very much attracted to the stick type that you pass over the document you want to scan. Most of the material I envisage scanning will be old papers in archives and pages in books. It needs to be fully compatible with Apple Mac and DTP Office, and the output I will mainly be looking at is searchable PDF. Although I have been using DTP for some years I have only recently upgraded to the Office version and I have not much experience at scanning. So, the question is does anyone have experience and recommendation regarding suitable stick-type scanners? I live in the UK and would like to be able to buy online and being a pensioner budget is important, ideally up to say £50. Thanks for any advice.
