Possible Bug: Converting Sheet to Rich Text

Hi,

I’m just getting going with DEVONthink Pro Office, so I hope I’m not jumping to any conclusions here!

Anyway, I’ve tried this a couple of times, and I’ve gotten the same behavior:

  1. Created a sheet with a couple of columns.

  2. Added some text to the sheet.

  3. Tried to convert it to Rich Text.

  4. Get Log Window, saying that the conversion didn’t happen.

I did try converting to HTML and to Plain Text, and both of these worked fine.

What’s funny is that this functionality is actually pretty darn important to me! I’m trying to find an alternative to Bento (buggy as all hell!), and the notion of being able to convert a sheet to a document with columns intact could just work.

Sheets are plain text only. Apple’s rich text (basically, TextEdit) doesn’t handle long table documents gracefully, at least currently.

Christian has noted in other threads that he plains improvements in the display of Sheets, but probably later, in a 2.x version of DEVONthink Pro/Office.

Thanks for the reply and info. It would be nice functionality to have, but I can work around it.
