Prevent "reveal Tag" from opening a new window

I love the option to “reveal Tag” attached to each tag at the bottom of my document. However, whenever I click it, the tag is revealed in a new window. I can’t seem to find an option that will make this reveal the tag in my existing open window. Does this exist?

I use (mainly) three-pane view over here and cannot seem to replicate this.

What view do you use?

What is your setting at Preferences > General > Interface > Always open groups in a new window?
