I ve set my default import group in the preferences but, when I drag a file from my desktop to the DTP icon it does not appear in the group (-inbox in that case).
It actually does not appear in any group.
What am I doing wrong?

Look for it in the top level view.
There’s a tool that will let you drag a file or clipping into any group you wish.
Try Tools > Show Groups. The floating panel can be positioned as you like. I move it to the right side of the screen. It can float above any view or application, so can be available from most applications.
When not in use, just minimize it to the Dock. Want to drag a file into your database from the Finder? Just click on the Groups icon in the Dock and drag the file to any group location desired.
