Problems updating to latest version

Hello,

I restarted using DTP after a long period of inactivity.
I have version 2.8.3.
I tried “checking for updates” and it stated that I have a the latest version.
But I know that the latest version is 2.9.10?

Am I eligible for this update?
I tried downloading the latest version Downloads page, and had trouble replacing my current one.
So I aborted because I didn’t want to corrupt my database…

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Yes, you are eligible and there’s no worry about updating as the database is separate from the application. However, just download, unzip, and replace the application. Do NOT run an uninstaller utility. It’s not necessary.
