Hi,
I tried to open DEVONthink Pro yesterday and got a dialogue box reading “You can’t open the application DEVONthink Pro because it may be damaged or incomplete.” I am using Mac OSX 10.6. I vaguely remember that the program may have crashed the last time I tried to close it, but that was weeks ago, so unfortunately I can’t offer any details. Any tips on how I might be able to reinstate it without losing all my data? I can still access some of the database files as text files (garbled and in all caps but kind of readable) when I search for them on the hard drive.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
it sounds like a problem with the .app file itself rather than your database files. I’d say download the latest version from devon-technologies.com/download/ and install it again

Your data is, of course, stored separately from the actual application.
And (thankfully) that’s generally true with OS X apps/data. Sometimes reinstalling an app will require reinstalling a license, but even that’s relatively rare.
