I want to know where workspaces are stored and how I can back them up, this is the first question

There is no “Application Support” in the devothink3 directory, nor in any other location.

The contents of this globals are not in the database I created myself, so how do I back up the contents of this?

There is no “Application Support” in the devothink3 directory, nor in any other location.

I think you are looking in the wrong place. Copy this ~/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink 3 go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder… and paste the path into the dialog. You should then be able to see the OrderedWorkspaces.plist file.
