Re-OCR older pdf+text file

I have some older literature in pdf format that have pretty bad OCR quality (from concordance I can see that text/words are sticking together and some funny symbols within words). I am just wondering if there is a way to re-OCR them in DT to improve the quality of the embedded text.
One way is to print the pdf files and scan/OCR them once more, but then the item-link of the files will be different and need to be re-tag and relevant back link need to be re-insert in other documents again.

Thank you in advance

Sure. Data > OCR > to searchable PDF should be sufficient.

So, the new text will over-write the old text layer (not sure if I am using the right term)?. Thanks again.

This creates a completely new PDF document including a fresh text layer.

Got it. Thank you
