Renaming files without selecting the extension

When renaming files, I’d love for DT to behave like Leopard’s Finder, where only the name portion (without extension) is selected.

This is the current behaviour when you press “return” on a file:

It’s also probable that there’s a setting for this somewhere and I totally missed it :slight_smile:

Nope, there’s no such setting that you’ve missed. Closest you can currently get is selecting Titles: Filename without extension under the Import tab of Preferences to inhibit extensions from being added to DT document titles in the first place. That works well for me since I abhor filename extensions.
