Replicate implemented as hardlinks?

Hi there

I’m experimeting with replicas…

Therfore I wanted to write a forum question like “Replicate beyond database boundaries?” but the forum system told me that there were plenty of similar questions all duly answered…

So OK, replicas work like hard links only inside one database. - But what’s the reason? Are they implemented as hardlinks on a filesystem level?

They’re not related to hard links in any way or the filesystem, they only have similar restrictions.
