RTF vs. Plain Text

I’m new to DT, and still exploring the ways I will be using it. As I begin to compile lots of short “docs” with info in DT, and am usually grabbing them from other apps, the question arises:

Do RTF docs have a disadvantage over plain text? Mainly, will the accummulation of hundreds or thousands of RTF’s result in a much larger disk space usage than doing the same in Plain Text? Should I only use RTF when I need to nicer formatting? or does it not really matter all that much in the long run…? (On files about 25KB and less I see making them Plain Text being only about one KB less than RTF.)

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

RTF texts need a little more space on disk, but in the long run this should not really matter. Also, our technology automatically compressed all documents anyway.

Best,

Eric.
