Same database, different folder structures (different machin

I have a large collection of files for a project. On my desktop, they are on a drive separate from Mac HD. I sync these to my laptop for offsite work, where they are in a subfolder of Documents. I put these (as indexed files) into a dedicated DTPO2b3 database, which is located in its own subfolder that is a sibling (not a child) to the main folder for this project. Because the main folder of the project has a different location relative to the root for the machine, the indexing for the desktop instance of the DTPO database doesn’t work when the database is ported to the laptop. I am indexing the files because of space constraints.

I don’t think there is a work around for this, but you never know…

You could try to make the directory structures of the two computers compatible using hard links.
