When I scan from my ScanSnap directly to DevonThink, the scan goes into the Global Inbox. From there I drag them into the Database, then I go into that database’s Inbox and drag the files into the group where I want them to be.
Is there any way to cut out a few steps? Can I scan directly into the group where the files will live?
If you go to DT’s preferences, under the Import tab, at the bottom you will see three options: Select Group; Global Inbox; or Inbox of Current Database. I have Select Group checked, so that after every scan I am presented with a box that allows me to select exactly which database and group I want the scan to be filed in. The desired database has to be open.
