I posted this on an older thread yesterday but am moving it here in the hopes that it will have more visibility.
I’m thinking about buying an Epson ES300W. I will scan English language docs into DTPO and use ReadIRIS for some languages not supported by AABBY in this version.
Anybody have any words of advice or warning about this set up? Is there any particular benefit/justification to spending more on a scansnap?

Are you actually referring to DEVONthink Pro Office, as in the 2.x line?

I don’t have any experience with the Epson, but I have a ScanSnap iX500 and it scans directly into DT3 Pro Office complete with OCR. Couldn’t be easier. Of course, the iX500 has been replaced by the iX1500, but it’ll work the same. My iX500 has been plugging away for over 7 years, it’s very reliable.
I have used the Epson ES200 for several years with no problems. I would buy it again or whatever is current version.
