Scripts are usually being disabled?

The smart rule No AI Music isn’t one shipped with DEVONthink or available in the support assistant.

I was having this issue as well. For me it seems that it’s a Smart Rule name “Track Opened Documents with Trickster” causing it

What was happening is I would select an item, and then click the Scripts menu. All scripts were enabled. But when I would click any other item, all scripts under the Scripts menu would be disabled. After some time, they would be enabled again

I disabled all of my Smart Rules, and scripts stayed enabled no matter how many items I selected. So I enabled each rule one by one and when I enabled the Trickster rule, scripts became disabled for a while

I don’t have the app Trickster installed and I’m not sure why this rule is installed (I may have installed it and don’t remember), but it does seem to be a new, official DT4 offering, according to the Welcome screen. But I am guessing that because the Trickster app isn’t installed, and since the rule runs “On Open”, it was waiting some interval before timing out and allowing other scripts to run again. @BLUEFROG @cgrunenberg

It’s likely being automatically installed because you have this setting enabled…

The smart rule shouldn’t be triggered by default, we’ll fix this.

Ahh, that’s it. I’ve always just assumed that meant “update any extras you’ve already installed”. I guess I should read things more carefully

Just want to add a data point about scripts being disabled for about 30 minutes before being available again.

I all of a sudden developed this issue a couple of days ago. That’s why I discovered this thread. I also had the “Track Opened Documents with Trickster” script in the SmartRules. However, I did have Trickster installed. Two days ago I uninstalled Trickster since I wasn’t using it anymore, and voilà, the problem appeared.

I’ve removed the SmartRule and the problem is gone.

It’s a good thing I discovered this thread, otherwise I would have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how the heck to get the scripts to work again in a timely fashion.
