Search parameters

This search returns no results:

(asexual OR sexual) NEXT reproduction

But this one returns a number of results:

(asexual NEXT reproduction) OR (sexual NEXT reproduction)

These look conceptually equivalent to me, but the more concise version fails. What am I missing?

I got the same 22 results for both formulations of the query.

Databases-wide search in the Search window, “All” setting.

Thanks, Bill. I have no idea what made the difference (I copy-pasted the previous queries directly from DEVONthink, so there shouldn’t be a difference)… but it’s working now.
