Search within comments

Hello. I have some PDFs of handwritten pages that I wanted to “tag” without really creating tons of new tags, so I put in some comments. The search for these comments works perfectly in DTPO, but it seems like search on DTTG does not include the comments.

Is that true? If so, is that something that will be implemented in the future? If not, any suggestions for making handwritten notes more searchable?

Thanks.

DTTG2 does indeed search the comments.

If you can’t find items in a search in DTTG2, select Help > Appendix > URL Commands > Performing Service Tasks and click the Execute link under reindex.

Perfect! Did not realize I needed the “comment:” prefix. Thanks!

No problem. Don’t forget to check the built-in Help or manual.

Actually, when you search without prefixing the term with “comment:” then DEVONthink To Go should search the name, the full text, and the comment so the document in question should indeed turn up, too, together with all the other documents that have the same search term somewhere else in their metadata.
