Send attachment via email without text

When I send an attachment via a new email, I am seeing different behaviors that depend on my method:

  1. If I drag the file onto the Mail.app icon, I get a nice new email with just the attachment in the body

  2. If I use the contextual menu, or the toolbar icon I have inserted, I get the attachment PLUS text from the attachment in the body of the new email.

My questions are two:

A. I would prefer to NOT add text from the attachment. Any way to select this behavior without dragging to the Mail icon?

B. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this action? I use it quite a lot.

Got the second part figured out. I created a macro in Keyboard Maestro.

Any thoughts on excluding text?

Drag & drop on the Mail icon is currently the only way to do this.
