Separating a PDF makes a TIFF

I scan in multiple pages at a time then import it into DTPO. At that time I convert it to a PDF+Text then I want to separate the pages out to file them. When I drag a page out of the PDF document, it moves it as a TIFF.

I want it to stay a searchable PDF. Is there a setting I have wrong?

It’s a goofy PDFKit thing.

Here’s a workaround. Click the PDF page you want to copy. CMD-C (copy page) and CMD-N (new document from clipboard). You’ll have a PDF+Text of that page.
