Serious problems with highlighting

When I highlight a piece of text in a PDF (latest version of DEVONthink), then print it to PDF and view it again in DEVONthink, it looks like this:

However, when I open the same document in Preview, the highlighting appears normal and the text is readable.
I often use this method when I need a few pages from a very long PDF in another group, but it’s quite frustrating when I can’t read my highlights. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Which version of macOS and DEVONthink do you use? Does restarting the app or computer fix this?

Thank you for your answer, Christian! I am on the latest versions of both MacOS and Devonthink on a MacBook Air M2. Strange, right now I am not able to reproduce the problem. It has happened before though. I guess I have to come back to this if it happens again.
