Sharing over the internet with different teams

I find great the sharing of databases over the internet from the server. However, I stumble upon a limitation — unless I did miss something in the documentation.

I would like to share two different databases with two different teams. (Database A accessible only to team A, database B accessible only to team B). I did protect the two databases with different usernames/passwords. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as expected:

• the server, correctly, asks for a login username/password;
• then, it never asks for a username/password to access the databases;
• when you’re logged into the server, the two databases are visible;
• so, anyone accessing the server, once logged, sees and can access/edit both databases…

Am I missing something? If not, this is definitely a feature request!

Thanks for your attention.

(PS: I’m using DTPO, 2.9.15)

At the moment usage of either a server user/password or a database user/password is recommended.

Thank you very much, Christian, for your reply.

So, I removed the password in the server control panel and left the name/passwords at the database level. What happens now, is that one database is accessible OK, but not the second one. I get the “indefinitely spinning wheel” and the database appears as if it where empty. See screenshot.

Thanks again.

Do you get asked for the username/password when trying to access the second database?

No. Only when I click on the first one. When I click the second one, it gets “stucked” in the situation illustrated by the screen capture.

It would be worth clearing all caches in the web browser as it may be attempting to use an old cached password. Which Web Browser are you using and on which platform?
