Shortcut to move a tag (to become child of another tag)

we know that it is possible to move an item to another group using the shortcut cmd-ctrl-m.

can this shortcut, or something similar be used to move a tag to become a child of another tag? a workflow, where I can easily select a tag and then press cmd-ctrl-m and be able to move it into another tag?

willing to adopt a script if that can help do this.

thank you!

No, there is no command for that.

Why would you have a need to do this often?

I hope to not do it often. But as of now, I have a messy tags list and am trying to organize it.

I want to merge some tags and move some tags to be children of another tag to have a more streamlined view of my tags.

Will merge by moving the files in one tag to the other tag that I want to merge with, and will delete the tag which I wanted to merge into another.

So for moving, I was hoping to use a shortcut. But if there is not one, that is fine.

Thank you for the quick reply.

No problem.

Will merge by moving the files in one tag to the other tag that I want to merge with, and will delete the tag which I wanted to merge into another.

If you merge two tags, the topmost one in the list will be preserved.

ok - thanks for sharing. will try this.

You’re welcome.
