Show Details and summarize


In an attempt to understand all the DT Pro Office can do I have been playing. I see the “show details” and “summarize” commands in the manual but it is not clear what they do. More importantly, I cannot select the show detail command (grayed out) no matter what I have highlighted (document, section of text, etc) and the summarize command is usually grayed out but if I select some text and choose the summarize command (when available) it will often just delete the selected text.

Am I missing something?

“Summarize” can be used on selections in text documents. It will boil down the selection to a briefer version, based on paragraphs or sentences, per the setting in Preferences > Editing.

“Show Detail” modifies some View options. For example, try View > as Columns and check out Show/Hide Details (it’s a toggle).
