Is there now some way to bring imported emails into smart groups?
The results of smart groups depend only on the used conditions. And emails are of course supported but the standard edition doesn’t index their text/metadata/attachments.

The criteria in a smart group would have to have Kind is Email.

Not Server, though that would work as well. DEVONthink Pro is the minimum required for fully handling emails.

You can use smart groups in the Standard edition. You can’t index emails.
Also, you do not “add files to a smart group”. From the Help > Documentation > Getting Started > DEVONthink Simplified > Groups: Smart Groups…
Thank you for clarifying, Bluefrog. Sounds like the smart group I made should work. It uses kind as email, and I have DT Pro.
Looks like all I had wrong was where to search. I didn’t think of the smart group template for email, which has that set up. Thanks!
