Is it possible to use a Smart Group that includes something like:
Filename does not contain.or Name does not contain. It is possible to do this with Name in iTunes.

You could use something like: Name matches !searchTerm*

This would ignore files with the searchTerm anywhere in the name.

If you wanted to match all the files whose name does not contain “biography” you could use this smart group

the exclamation mark in the search string – !biography – means “not biography”. So, “matches not biography” means the same as “does not match biography”.

Thanks. Now I get it. I did not notice the ! at first. Is this a symbol for NOT?

Yes, that functions as a NOT symbol.
