I have a simple rule to copy from a local folder to devonthink folder and move to database. However, I dont want to move it just copy. When I use the move into database it deletes the original which I want to keep.
According to page 145 of the the user guide (also available through the in-app Help):
Move Into Database: Use this command to move an indexed file into the database. Use this command with caution as it moves the file from its current location into the internals of your database. It does not copy the file.
Are your "Important Documents” initially indexed by DEVONthink? If not, it appears you may be using the wrong command. (Sorry if they are initially indexed: that wasn’t clear from your post.)
Edit: perhaps, to be rather more helpful, I should say I (and no doubt many others) use the Hazel app for things like this.

Got it to work, not sure what was up. Also the Hazel app looks like something I can use also. Thanks
