Smart rule doesn't work on new note from template

I made a smart rule to name new rtf notes onCreation. it works fine when I Create a new rtf note (from toolbar or keyboard shortcut). but when I try to create a new rtf note from template I made, the naming rule will not apply.

any suggestions?

This seems to be a bug, the next maintenance release will fix this.
